Together We Stand! – group show

November 30, 2020 - January 16, 2021

Marignana Arte, Marina Bastianello Gallery and Galleria Michela Rizzo present Together we stand !, an exhibition project born as a reaction to the cancellation of the fairs, in particular following the postponement of ArtVerona 2020. From 30 November 2020 to 9 January 2021 the three galleries present the artists and works originally conceived for the Veronese event in the spaces of the Michela Rizzo Gallery on the Giudecca Island, offering collectors and the local public the opportunity to visit the “off-fair” stands.

“The truth may indeed stand on one leg, but with two it will walk and go around”, said Nietzsche; and if the upright position is the greatest achievement of human evolution, then when we talk about standing we are talking about the most human act of all. An act that combines the search for truth, beauty, meaning - I have to stand to be a man, to look at the stars, to search for horizons - with an extraordinary form of resistance: not even the gravity and weight of the atmosphere will lower. my look. There is all the tragedy and magnificence of our condition in simply "standing up". But standing would not be so noble if it did not continually struggle with the risk of falling, of stasis, of the force that "knocks down". In the dramatic days that Italy, Europe and the rest of the world are experiencing, this risk is very strong. And therefore even more noble, strong and beautiful will be the effort to raise one's eyes to the sky.

Born from a practical necessity, this exhibition aims to transform the fall imposed by contingency into the demonstration that a new impetus is possible: just follow the paths of art, undertake them with courage, rely on them. These ways will make us remain human and give us the opportunity to look beyond the fall, beyond this time, beyond the difficulty of the days it would take us ashore. Together we stand! wants to be configured as a new form of collaboration between the three Venetian galleries that join forces in this delicate historical phase.

Among the artists on display, Marignana Arte presents Giuseppe Adamo, Maurizio Donzelli, Serena Fineschi, Nancy Genn, Silvia Infranco, Giulio Malinverni, Quayola and Verónica Vázquez. Marina Bastianello Gallery exhibits the works of Matteo Attruia, Antonio Guiotto, Penzo + Fiore and Paolo Pretolani. Finally, Galleria Michela Rizzo exhibits the works of Alessandro Biggio, Lucio Pozzi, Silvano Tessarollo and Sophie Westerlind.
