The Michela Rizzo Gallery is pleased to announce the inauguration of the new solo exhibition by Roberto De Pol, curated by Elena Forin. The completely new project was designed specifically for the gallery, and constitutes an important step in the artist's research. Interested in the link that is created between the reasons for the work and those of the context in which it is placed, De Pol experiences the different possibilities that this relationship can give voice to in each setting. For this occasion, the artist thought about various concepts that mainly involve the ideas of space, of time understood as frequency, and of the activation of memory and recollection.
A set of sound objects set up in various ways in the halls of the gallery will be activated by means of devices built by the artist. Each of these mechanisms is designed to create interference in the perception of sound, which will then spread into space through continuous superimpositions. The viewers will therefore find themselves in an extremely contradictory environment, in which they will be able to experience not only various forms of perception - from complete inaccessibility, to the recognition of one or more sound traces - but also various ways of relating - prevarication, submission, resistance - and absorption of a message.
