Artists: Gabriele Grones and Nazim Ünal Yilmaz
Curated by Giorgia Lucchi Boccanera and Michela Rizzo
No Man is an Island
“No man is an island entire of itself; every man is a piece of the continent, a part of the main.”
John Donne
At ZⓈONAMACO 2023, Boccanera Gallery (Trento/Milan) and Galleria Michela Rizzo (Venice) want to consolidate their relationship with Mexico and open a new chapter through a collaboration, based on mutual esteem and a shared vision.
Thus, the two galleries are pleased to present the work of Gabriele Grones (Italy, 1983), represented by Boccanera Gallery and Nazim Yilmaz (Turkey, 1983), represented by Galleria Michela Rizzo, making their poetics dialogue in the same booth.
The title of the exhibition No Man is an Island refers to a famous text by John Donne and is intended to be a cue for the investigation of Grones’s and Yilmaz’s works, through a set-up designed to highlight the thematic cross-references of the two artists.
