Galleria Michela Rizzo is pleased to present a large exhibition by Claudio Costa, one of the most relevant artists of the generation who has worked since the second half of the 1960s.
Organized in collaboration with the Claudio Costa Archive and curated by Flaminio Gualdoni, the initiative presents twenty primary works that document the artist's entire journey.
Through the adoption of disparate and poor materials and the manipulation of objects and iconographies ranging from anthropology to alchemy, Costa has given rise to a proliferating flow of works and installations in which visionarity and scientific ratio intersect, an atavistic sense of bodily and pure, pulsating psychic flows.
The artist wrote: "Art is a tuning fork of the psyche that captures the signals of the species, wraps them with memories, accompanies them with ghosts, couples them with grace". During the exhibition, a volume will be published with images of the works displayed in the gallery, an essay by Gualdoni, and a selection of unpublished or rare writings and documents by Costa.
