Alessandro Sambini wins the Premio Fabbri  - Contemporary Photography Section with 'Human Image Recognition, Andalusian Horse' (2021) for having re-thought man-machine collaboration in a non-hierarchical way, suggesting that we too can learn from artificial intelligence; for having devised a human method of reading images inspired by automatic systems of visual recognition and having applied it with the irony and critical sense that have always characterized his practice; and finally in recognition of his entire artistic career with which he has contributed over the years to expand the very concept of photography.

Talk with the artist:

Saturday December 11
5 pm

An artist, Francesco Jodice. One place, the former Sant'Agostino hospital. A project, AGO Modena Fabbriche Culturali. These are the three elements that converge in Come and See, a photographic exhibition 'on the road' that aims to tell the evolution and enhance the identity of a city space at a time of great transformation. The twelve large-format photographs imagined as openings on the construction site of what will become the largest cultural centre in the city (some reach a length of 7 meters) are placed side by side, creating an urban installation of over 70 meters.
