Giorgia Fincato (Vicenza, 1982) studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice.<\/span> Between 2007 and 2009, she lived in New York and dedicated herself to drawing, in 2009 she moved to Rome. Since 2013 she has been living in Bassano del Grappa, her hometown.<\/span><\/p>\n

Her artistic production is characterized by a great attention and a deep study of the movement both in a spatial and temporal sense.<\/span> For the artist, drawing is a primordial act that has always existed: it represents, above all, the gesture of the soul as an expression of energy and feelings.<\/span> The design and the act itself become a means to feel one\u2019s own presence and participation in a world not yet fully understood. Through repetitive gestural practice (almost always) of the same subject and sign, the artist creates a communicative language of his own, which opens, or closes, on the world according to his needs.<\/span> The gesture becomes a total and immersive action, as if a sacred ritual or a prayer were being performed.<\/span> And it is in this spirituality that the work takes on a value unrelated to time.<\/span> And yet, during the creative moment, it is precisely time itself that becomes an essential element, determining a rhythmic and constant dimension punctuated by the pen that runs on the blank sheet.\u00a0<\/span>Drawing becomes a journey within one\u2019s own self and one\u2019s own fears, becoming a protective cage or an empty space, originating in a time suspended and far from the world.<\/span><\/p>\n

The artist has collaborated with Galleria Michela Rizzo on the occasion of the exhibitions: Assembramenti (2020), Soglie e limiti, curated by Elena Fiorin (2019) and a project dedicated to her in the Project Room<\/span>. <\/span>Giorgia Fincato has also exhibited in many museums and galleries in Italy and abroad: <\/span>Fondazione Antonio Ratti, Como; Palazzo Ducale, Genova; Galerie Margareth Otti e Universalmuseum Joanneum\/Neue Galerie, Graz; Apart Art Advisory, Lugano; Casa Cava, Matera;\u00a0 Dumbo Arts Center, New York; Explora Children Museum, MACRO, Studio Claudio Abate, Studio d\u2019arte Pino Casagrande, Ugo Ferranti Gallery Roma; Villa Gregoriana, Tivoli; Kunst & Handel Gallery, Vienna; 51esima e 52esima Biennale d\u2019Arte, Venezia.<\/span><\/p>\n
