In collaboration with Giovanna Calvenzi and Studio Basilico.

The Michela Rizzo Gallery is pleased to present Postcards of Italy, a personal exhibition by Gabriele Basilico curated by Angela Madesani.
The first important project, Milan, will be exhibited by the Milanese artist, one of the most significant and internationally recognized. Portraits of factories, made between 1978 and 1980, and a survey on Renaissance civil architecture carried out in 2012 for the volume Italy. Masterpieces of the Renaissance by FMR-AR T'E ', which will be presented during the exhibition.

The exhibition connects two significant moments in Basilico's research: the representation of the Milanese industrial world in a moment of irreversible transformation, at the end of the 1970s, and the reflection on the artistic history of our country. In the text, The right measure (2012) Basilico wrote: "Placing myself in front of these architectures, considered the quintessence of the Renaissance measure, I chose to apply this compositional freedom to subjects with a very dense identity: dense for the cultural implications that they carry within themselves, dense due to the reverberations of picturesque that today's tourist gaze projects on you ”.
